Jan's advice for funeral consumers is:

  • Seek out your local funeral director and get to know them before you need their services.
  • Planning ahead does not necessarily mean setting aside funds, but more importantly making your wishes clearly known to your family.
  • Make sure your Will is current, taking into account changes in family circumstances and asset ownership.
  • Don't be afraid to compare companies based on service and reputation, not just on quoted costs.

A third generation funeral director, Jan started her career in 1988 and owns funeral businesses in Chester Hill and Panania. Jan has served on the committee since 1999 and was President from 2004-2007.

Jan enjoys being involved as a committee member because it provides her with an opportunity to engage in discussion with agencies outside of the Association on issues which affect our members.
